SCARED WRITERS

Scared? Voiceless? Intimidated? Wondering what the point is? Look no further.

Scared writers are writers after my own heart. If you’re scared, depressed, discouraged, or gagged, you’re sitting on gold. Whether you’re brave enough to reveal it is all that remains to be seen.

Every writer should experience at least some fear. You should feel your inadequacy to express what you wish to express. You should be so vulnerable and risk-taking, you terrify yourself.

Fear is an indication that you have something worth saying. Even if your metaphorical voice sticks in your metaphorical throat, that voice is a unique and unparalleled gift. You can refuse to mine that ore, but it doesn’t mean you don’t own the land it’s buried in.

What are your experiences as a writer with fear: of writing, publishing, vulnerability? How do you deal with it?

Leave a comment or write a response (tag it with WWNHW, and ScaredWriters) to have it published in Writers Who Need Help Writing.
