February’s Writing Prompts at the The Fiction Writer’s Den
Hello, and welcome to a slightly belated set of writing prompts for February, here at The Fiction Writer’s Den!

You can find last month’s prompts below, or visit the writing prompts tab on our publication homepage any time you like. You can, of course, combine these with drabble-a-day words (as per this example from Maisie Archer), or use them in any other way. It’s all about sparking your creativity.
This month’s set has its origins in some home reorganisation; I recently moved all of my fantasy books to one bookcase, and as I was doing so, I had to ponder on what makes something ‘count’ as fantasy.
Star Wars, for example, is often seen more as a fantasy story based in outer space (isn’t the force basically magic?) than sci-fi. And what about magical realism? Franz Kafka? Children’s stories?
