Someone once said that there was absolutely nothing amazing or noteworthy about the state of Oregon.

Same old, same old.

However, there are one or two interesting facts that deserve mention.

In 1915 the “Inland Empire” and the “J.N. Teal” were the first two steamers through The Dalles — Celilo Canal.

Steamboats? Interesting? Maybe, maybe not, depends on your perspective. If you happen to love boats, of course, the history is fascinating. On the other hand, if you are of the opinion that all boats do is sink, then you would be the one that would stick with trains and planes.
