Cimon Ostracized
A drabble-a-day story
Cimon pushed the meat aside and returned to reading. There would be leftovers; he hadn’t touched a scrap. So little time.
Jaw clenched, his fingers ran over the journal as he sought some proof that he hadn’t aided Sparta. Then he paused. Marching footsteps outside.
So soon?
Cimon stood. He knew the troops would enter the first of the two marble-lined corridors that joined the room. But the other provided equally quick access to the Electron Gardens below, where normally, at this hour, he would work on swordplay with his trainer.
Today, there was no time.
He must flee.
This story contained all of Grim Flandango’s drabble-a-day words from this:
So… Cimon was a general and political leader during the Athenian golden age. He was ostracised, i.e. banished from the city for ten years, due to being suspected of supporting the key rival power, Sparta.
