Coffee Break Reads: A Flash Fiction R4R
Do you have short fiction to share?
There have been various attempts at ‘read-for-read’ (R4R) on Medium, including for fiction.
Although most of them have focused on blogs, fiction has also had its turn. For some months, I ran a fiction R4R community together with Jay C Wells, Kathy K and Samuel Kenneth Kauffman, first as part of ‘Web Novel Reviews’, and then ‘Fiction Frenzy’ (both now merged into The Fiction Writer’s Den), sharing chapters of web-novels.
Now, a new initiative: a flash fiction read for read. This will be a little different from the old Fiction Frenzy, and will be called Coffee Break Reads.
It will involve you sharing your fiction stories (old or recent) for others to read. Here’s how it will work…
Who?
Anyone can join, however, if the number gets larger we might split the stories into two or more lists. The stories you share can be hosted in any publication or independently, but they should be on Medium.
What?
It will involve sharing short fiction on a weekly basis, with the idea being that we read and comment on each other’s work. Chapters and (most) short stories are too long; that’s why…
