There’s no time for hesitation — you charge onwards down the stairs. By fortune, a flickering lantern hangs here; you swipe it before running on.

In the next level, there are many massive thick cobwebs all around (not concerning at all!). You sprint up a corridor, then pass one bare storeroom after another, not hesitating.

Finally, a doorway leads to another corridor, then a room with a round cupboard door partially obscured behind a bookshelf. The perfect hiding place?

You shift the bookcase fractionally, then open the door.

Inside, more massive webs. One tunnel leads upwards, another deeper into the earth.
