Every Writer’s Nemesis Is Back — NaNoWriMo

Or was it supposed to be a hero?

Are you a zealot, a rebel, or a denier? Whoever you are, you can try to run or hide, but like Thanos, it’s inevitable: NaNoWriMo catches up with any writer eventually.

What, you think that’s an exaggeration? Well… although I saw some strange opinions about what counts as a literary device recently, exaggerations are definitely part of the lineup.

I would like to know your plans for NaNoWriMo. Are you writing a novel? Will you join the NaNo rebels this year, and do anything other than a novel? Whatever you decide, remember to take care of yourself during NaNoWriMo. This mammoth task won’t be finished with a snap of your fingers (great — more Thanos references!)

I will do NaNoWriMo the Pippi Longstocking way this year, “I see the world […] the way I want to.” Therefore, I’ve named my 2023 project Every Rebellion Starts with a Single Word. (Honestly, I couldn’t come up with anything better.)

My goal is to continue last year’s story, finish a bunch of short stories that I neglected, and create ideas for another novel. Like last year, I’ll share my thoughts and progress and some samples on my Medium profile.

So, what are you up to?
