Previously: While on the run, Mars and Ren found Spike and Abby who joined them. They spend the night in the woods on the way to the fisherman’s house.
At dawn, they had already been walking for some time. The night in the woods was refreshing, but one can’t expect to sleep as long as in a warm bed. The sun shone strongly, helping them find a way through the dense vegetation. Mars and Ren advanced in front. A few steps behind, the other two followed. They moved slowly and carefully, trying to prevent the sharp branches.
Mars pointed at the right side of the way, where a dirt road suddenly emerged. “Is this the street we took last time?”
“I believe it was,” Ren said.
They advanced faster through the clear road, despite the hunger and exhaustion. Spike’s boar had promised much more than it delivered. The road had seemed shorter when they traveled…
