This is a continuation of Hunting a Demon, a Choose Your Own Adventure Story started by JF Danskin and written in drabbles and double drabbles. Find out more here, or return to the previous chapter: ‘The Fish Warrior’ or ‘Mocking Finnart.’

In response, Finnart yells, and one fish warrior raises a spear.

“Move!” you scream, then lead Angelika to the nearby row boat. You lift her in and push off, turning to face the fish warriors, still up to your knees in water.

One falls to your sword. An archer is shooting. Roaring, you drive the closest warriors back, then leap into the rowboat.

An arrow hits the boat; you hunker low, managing to row

You glance up. Finnart has removed his armor. As you look on, he leaps into the water.

You hand Angelika a dagger. “Get ready,” you say.

And then you tell Angelika to…
