A bomb squad.
It must be the red wire.
Snip.
Wrong one.

An archer on live TV.
A volunteer entrusts her life.
An apple on her head.
Arrow placed, string drawn back, released.
Bad aim.

New settlers.
Native forest.
Chop.
Where have all the trees gone?

A leg amputation.
The left one or the right one?
“Left”.
Chop.
Whoops, that was his good one.

The first atomic bomb.
The chances the test detonation will destroy the world are near zero.
Press.
Thank God for that, we only took out a couple of cities.

This story is a drabble, an idea I got from JF Danskin.
