A pair of large green goblins, one wielding a spear and the other brandishing a dagger, guarding an ancient stone altar in a dimly lit forest clearing, with towering trees casting long shadows around them.

Goblins are invading your peaceful forest!! At least, they might be, and that, surely, is reason enough for action. Gonna stand by and let them hog the picnic spots?

A personal reflection: In my college years, I was a goblin. I changed my ways real sharp. Started wearing human clothes, grew taller, stopped eaten elven children. Bad habits can be overcome.

Don’t think goblins are a threat? Think again! Any peaceful woodland walk could turn into a re-run of the Battle of the Five Armies (book version). Act now, before greasy green goblins start thinking they own the joint.

This story contained one of Grim Flandango’s words from A Drabble a Day 44: Backstage: ‘sharp’. Thanks!

Thanks also to Aurora Moon McKnight and to everyone who commented on my story below, as it sparked the idea for this one.
