The people in the café resumed their chatting as midnight approached.

The atmosphere was so intense and a sense of mystery to it.

Surrounded by black coffee, Detective Jones started to contemplate.

A sinister shadow sailed across the floor. “So it’s you again, Detective Jones,” said Inspector Smith with a very nonchalant greeting.

“What brings you here?” Jones waved to sit with the others.

“I have a case. It’s a riddle,” Smith answered.

“Then go ahead and tell me,” Jones urged him.

“It’s Whiskers, Mrs. Jenkins’s cat. She’s half of her beloved treasure,” Smith told.

“Now that really sounds like a case,” Jones chuckled.

“The reward really matters,” said Smith.

Mrs. Jenkins offered to help with some valuable information.

“I’ll take it,” said Jones with a snap of affirmation.

“And, God willing, we will find Whiskers,” Jones deliberated and replied, nodding his approval. “Jones, this time, keep your hands off the pie,” Smith added jokingly.

“I can’t promise you that,” Jones laughed.

They set out on their quest to find Whiskers.
