This drabble responds to one of Grim Flandango’s daily word prompts (‘grain’).

As Mima threw feeding grain into the lake, a large dark shadow darted overhead.

“Those confounded dragons!” she hissed.

Grabbing her dragon-slaying equipment, she aims upwards.

“Caution. Careful, Princess”, the rider yelled down to her.

“This is our domain!” He gracefully landed his sparkling dragon.

Dark, bronzed, and majestic, the giant man slides from the dragon’s shoulder, sneering arrogantly. Then strides fearlessly toward the mesmerized huntress.

“Are you a slayer of dragons living within a valley filled with mystical creatures?” Balthazar, the dragon’s aggressive rider, asked.

“Damn! He is fine!” she whispers wantonly.

Mima often attained her true aspirations.
