I’ve never been a huge fan of the holidays that feel like shameless cash grabs. See the following:

Valentine’s Day: make sure your loved one feels extra special (nevermind the other 364 days of the year).

Halloween: refer to the iconic movie Mean Girls… “in girl world, Halloween is the one night of the year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it” (and before you send me angry messages, this applies to gay men, too).

Or Cyber Monday, because my wallet isn’t done crying from Black Friday.

There, I’ve said it.

Yet there is something magical about Star Wars Day. Originally from the pun “May the Fourth be with you,” it has no official commencement year, growing organically from the fans and embraced by the creators of the beloved franchise.
