This release of WriteUpp (Web v2.13.17) brings you a fabulous new feature that we are sure you’re going to love.

You now have the ability to link out to files/folders that you have in external storage, we’ve also included the ability to add a custom gender when creating a patient file plus some other improvements and some bug fixes. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

New Feature

Ability to link to external storage

You now have the ability to link out to a file/folder that you have in external storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox etc) The beauty of this feature is that you can access and link important files to a patient in WriteUpp with no storage limit!

To do this, go to Create -> Attachment and paste the file URL into the box shown here:

Linked files will appear under the “Files” tab of the patient summary as a “Link — Document”

To view the document, simply click on the name and select ‘View’

It is important to note that linked files and folders are not stored in WriteUpp and remain your sole responsibly. Files/folders that are linked in this way will not be included in data exports or access requests.

Improvements

Ability to free type gender of a patient when creating a file

To provide you with a lot more flexibility around genders, when creating a patient file, you can now free type a patients gender by clicking on “Custom”

Clickable landline number in patient summary

For those users that link your WriteUpp to services like Linux/KDE Connect you can now click on a landline/home phone number from within the web version of WriteUpp to make a call to that patient.

Xero configuration now publicly available

To streamline the process of connecting your WriteUpp account to Xero, you no longer have to contact support to activate this on your account. This is now available for all sites, new and old! To configure Xero with your WriteUpp account, simply go to Settings -> Finance -> Configure Xero Export:

We have lots of great resources to help you get set up with the Xero export. You find help centre articles on this here , a video guide here or catch the Xero webinar here

Bug Fixes

  • “Boost” notifications were reappearing when you edited an online booking appointment. This has been fixed.
  • There was an issue surrounding the amount of invoices that could be exported to Xero in bulk. This has been addressed
