My academic and professional path is full of creativity, imagination, and play. I get a lot of this from my childhood, and the pieces of media which defined it. Childhood inspires me both symbolically and quite literally. Last semester I even drew upon the feelings of childlike excitement and outlandish playfulness to create a card game called MIGHTY!:

For the first version of the game, I drew the card art on notebook paper as if a middle schooler did them in class. I approached the design with the mentality: What would 9 year old me think is fun?

This WP2 archive takes a look at a handful of my beloved childhood pastimes. I explore how they’ve affected me, both in my intellectual identity and holistic self.
