Change Things.

Some real-talk about making (actual) change and getting out of your current circumstances.

People like photos, so here’s a photo in this story that I took (yes, I actually did take this).

Change your rituals (especially in the morning): Do more things for yourself at the beginning of the day, especially things that make you happy but that aren’t destructive.

Change how much time you spend attached to technology: Put down your phone. Close your laptop. Get outside. Find and create more space offline in your life.

Change the way you stick to comfortable things: Read a book way outside your normal reading categories. Travel to a place you wouldn’t normally go. Flip your daily schedule upside down for a week.

Change how much time you spend in consumption mode: Do you need to read more articles? Do you need to buy more things?

Change you: Trying to change everyone around you doesn’t work. You are in full control of your own life.

Quitting leads to change.

Quit more things.

Quit your crappy friends who hold you back.

Quit watching TV, YouTube, etc.

Quit being lazy.

Quit complaining.

Quit spending money on useless stuff you don’t need.

Quit living in your hometown because it’s easy and comfortable.

Quit worrying what everyone will think of you or your work.

Quit a project that you don’t think you can quit because you’ve already invested too much time/money.

Quit ruthlessly.

Invest in yourself to make real change happen.

Invest in a self-help book and actually read it. Don’t buy another a book. Do everything that book told you to do.

Invest in your gut and listen to your intuition. All the mentors, coaches, and gurus are probably going to tell you things you already know/feel.

Invest in your own business or ideas before someone else’s. The ROI of yourself is greater than any stock, 401k, etc.

Invest time for self-care, exercise, and health. Put it on your calendar. Block off an entire day. Eat better. Break a sweat. Meditate. Sleep.

Change happens because you make it happen, not because you read yet another thing like this.
