The definition of jealousy in the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary is “an unhappy feeling because someone is able to do something that you would like to do”. Nevertheless, the word doesn’t simply mean someone can do or possess something that you don’t have, it also represents an emotion, which denotes a feeling of insecurity, fear and concern. If the feeling persists and grows in a person’s mind, it may cause a lot of negative social issues that we have been seeing in newspapers lately (that we have seen in newspapers). For instance, a jealous man killed his girlfriend when he saw her presumably date another man, and this action was derived from his insecurity. In brief, the definition of jealousy is a deep and complicated human emotion.
