An Awkward Toast

I made an unforgettable mistake at my best friend’s wedding this summer by switching the two toasts I had prepared for separate wedding ceremonies that I had to attend. When I started to nervously present the toast, I realized the serious mistake I had made. I felt so embarrassed and blushed with shame. On hearing the guests’ indistinct laughter, I started to sweat. Suddenly, a voice in my head warned me to immediately fix this awkward situation. Taking a deep breath, and without hesitation I threw my note away and started to shower my sincerest blessings on my best friend and his bride. I swear that if he has a second wedding in the future, I will not make the same mistake again.
