My Favorite Holiday

Chinese New Year is my favorite holiday for three reasons. First, it’s the longest among all other holidays in Taiwan. Usually we have eight days off, so there’s plenty of time to go on a vacation or spend time with our families. Second, children receive red envelopes from the elders to buy anything they want. For example, boys can buy toys, video games, or sneakers while girls can buy new clothes and cosmetics. Moreover, we feast at this annual reunion. Expensive seafood we can ill-afford on normal days like lobster or oyster are always served in piles. In short, I always look forward to Chinese New Year at the end of each year.
