Should Women Do Military Service？

Without a doubt, women in Taiwan should not do military service. The most obvious reason is that women lack the physical strength. According to research, a woman has much less muscle mass than a man. For example, some women may even find it difficult to carry a gun. My second reason is that women have their menstrual cycle which makes it inconvenient for them to do intensive exercises. Some people may say women could be included in work that doesn’t need much power, however being in the armed forces requires both physical and mental stamina. Finally, it is not suitable to send women to the front line during a war because they may be tortured or raped if they are captured. Based on all of these reasons, the policy to compel women to do military service should be abolished.
