Following the progression of technology, there are more and more people who cannot live without technology. In school, some people prefer to follow the traditional education, which relies mainly on textbooks, while some teachers would like to teach students with technology. Nevertheless, can using technology in classroom truly bring high learning efficiency to students? Can you image that a classroom without any technology such as computers, projectors, and so on? In my opinion, using technology in classroom can create win-win situation; it brings benefits to both students and teachers.

The most important thing is that technology usage in the classroom helps both students and teachers save a plenty of time while efficient learning is a key factor in education. For teachers, technology in the classroom can be used as a tool to decrease wasted instructional time in class. By showing the pictures or illustrations as visual aids on the screen, teachers can attract students’ attention and leave a stronger impression in their brain because people prefer vivid images than just words. For students, technology provides an instant access to knowledge while others consider that students should solve the problems on their own. Moreover, students can learn how to assess the quality of information found in the Internet from teachers. Last but not least, useful information online can help students develop creative thinking while they are taking courses.

Second, technology in classroom makes learning more fun. There are a lot of free classroom APPs and Internet platforms that we can use in the class. For example, Kahoot is a game-based learning platform that make the course fun to learn. Teachers can create their own quizzes which are related to the lesson to make a time limited competition for students. In addition, it can enhance students’ interaction with their classmates to avoid students only engaging in the textbook without actively participating in the class. Internet platform can also make some online interaction between teachers and students such as e-books and Moodle. E-books is a convenient tool for students to learn everything, which they are interested in, by themselves in their free time after the class, while Moodle serves as a free, open-source, and e-learning management system Besides uploading class materials and handouts on Moodle, students can directly share their opinions of lessons before the class or even after the class. In brief, technology in classroom makes it interesting to students and helps students learn at their own space.

Using technology in class also brings other advantages. There are countless resources on Internet which are helpful to teach such as enhancing the traditional ways of teaching and keeping students more engaged. What’s more, it also helps their students to develop digital citizenship skills. It’s one thing to use mobile devices and a completely other thing to know how to use them correctly and responsibly. Using technology in class brings different ways for teaching which makes students to keep their motivation. For instance, some websites have games which can let student study on it.

Given these points, technology should be wisely and properly used in the classroom because it not only helps the students absorb knowledge efficiently but also let the teachers develop a better teaching method. By making good use of these ways of learning, teachers and students can learn from the technology. Since the emerge of new technology has changed our world rapidly, it’s time to get along with it.
