MySims Kingdom Box Art.

Released: 2008

Genre: Life Simulation

Format Reviewed: Wii

Publisher: EA

Developer: EA

I remember my childhood excitement as I explored each island, making friends along the way. Picking a favourite island is tough considering there were eleven. But if I had to choose, then Cowboy Junction reigns supreme. It had a mountain, a farm, and a pizza café! And the quests were so fun — does anything compare to the joys of herding wild cows?

Jokes aside, MySims Kingdom may not be the most advanced game, but there’s beauty in its simplicity. It’s immersive and silly — everything a game marketed for children should be. I can only hope that one day EA will consider remastering MySims Kingdom for a new generation; but if not (and it’s most likely not), then it’s time to find my Wii, and reunite with some old pals.
