Recognizing and Solidifying of “Hard-Thinking” and Perseverance(Part 4)

In considering a set of distinguished impacts that made me an Active Inquirer I am going to revisit some interviews.

A quality of neutral connotation that Justin mentioned was that of my stubbornness to “requirements” at times. Sebastien and Henry showed me that it is passion, honesty, and perseverance that have led me to “adapt into [my] personality”(Henry). An example includes Sebastien mentioned includes a trip I took to Los Angeles to see a play despite the advice of others. I went there to see a British style of theatre called Panto. I also learned that in other circumstances I had the integrity to move past negative interactions and times I failed to retain my stance in school; so much so that risks (such as applying to go to a college 2,000 miles from me) were mere steps to achieving my goals.

I developed prevalent qualities that led me to solidification of my ideals including curiosity and kindness. As Justin said, I used to be shy and introverted, but Boy Scouts allowed me to climb out of that shell. My parents spoke of my leadership skills I attained when I was the SPL of my Boy Scout Troop. This applies directly to my Eagle Scout Project where I assembled drawstring bags with toiletries for a homeless shelter which I delivered personally alongside other scouts that I was leading. This affected me because I needed to take charge to lead the scouts in the process of assembly and led me to commit to helping others in specifically organized manners despite the funding issues I had faced. As I learned, if I am to fully commit to being active in my inquiry, I must dedicate myself to following the specific steps to ensure an identity in my community.
