Narrative 1: The Beauty of Life
“Cyber, Cyber, Cyber”. It was completely dark. All she could see was flashing lights. Everyone was screaming their name. She felt a cold breeze through her whole body. She didn’t expect them to be screaming like that. Her breath became heavy; her legs were shaking badly. She climbed the stairs with [g; her]heart in her hands. She was shaking terribly. The three of them climbed up and got lost in the darkness. She started to pray for everything to go well. The worst about this situation was not being able to see ahead in the dark. Bam, lights went on and she still wasn’t able to see anything. It was one of the best nights of her life, but also one of the scariest one.
“Okay people, we have two months to prepare for this big event.” said the leader. “Bring your song choice and we will choose one together.” [str; new paragraph] Nobody brought one so the leader came up with something and they fell in love with her choice immediately and [new sentence(ns)]that’s how the hit single ladies was chosen. It was a whole month of hard work. Everything started of[s] pretty smooth[g]. A few weeks further, that’s when the real work started. They practiced almost every day during the week for at least two hours. It was a great month to bond with each other a little more. Laughing and enjoy[g] each other’s[g] company. But it wasn’t just to have fun; it was also about working hard[c; parallel structure]. As usual it was pretty easy to her[p] because she was a quick learner. Their goal was to make a difference. They wanted to make an impact on this show. Everyone was needed; this is when she started to help out. While helping out she was learning the dance moves even better. At the end she was one of the dancers that knew the choreography better than anyone. This is when the pressure was on[p] because everyone expected her best. There was only a few weeks left. Everything needed to be on point. Everyone started to stress out. Honestly, she wasn’t[g].
The big day has come[g] and the team arrived at the international school. There were two girls dancing on stage, praising God. This was a beautiful talent to share with the audience, to make them feel touched by the love of God. But,[r] all of a sudden one of the girls paralyzed[g] and didn’t move for a couple of minutes. She kept staring straight into nothing and then she ran off of the stage. This was the final competition so most people knew that this was it for them.
This scene was the reason that brought[g; the “reason for”] the whole chaos. This is what made her, the girl who said she wasn’t nervous at all, completely out of control[v; wrong expression]. How could she be nervous? She was the dancer of the year and she knew the dance moves better than anyone. She was perfect for this song. She has been dancing every week for the last two years already. How can she be nervous suddenly[g; misplaced]? It was like she was in the girl’s position. It was like she had a blackout[p] too. Her whole body was itching,[ns] her heart was racing. All she was thinking of was the girl who had the blackout. She couldn’t move nor think straight. Tears were rolling down her face. Why was she actually crying, because of the girl,[ns] because she knew that the girl lost? Her other dance partners tried to calm her down. She will never forget what one of them told her. These were her words:[r] “Hey, you got this. This is yours,[ns] this is yours. You know this better than anyone,[ns] you shouldn’t be scared. You’re the best.” These words boosted her. She felt honorable[v] and great until they called out their name. They didn’t have that much[g; much is used with uncountable nouns] fans sitting in the crowd. They didn’t sell that many tickets. Many have been sold, but not enough to have that many people screaming their names like that. It was the fullness of their voices. It was how passionate they were screaming their name. The unexpected scream made her heart started[g] to race again. And she started to cry again. The leader pressed her hands really hard and said: “Don’t do this now[p] Tania,[ns] don’t do this.” Yea, that girl was me, Titania Willems. The leader went on: “Get your head straight[p] because it’s time. It’s time to shine.” [str; new paragraph]“Cyber, Cyber, Cyber”.[p]
