Gone

A Poem by Señor Tao

It is the knowledge of the genuine condition of our lives that we must draw our strength to live and our reason for living.

Simone de Beauvior

Gone from sight
but not from memory.
In my mind,
a picture of you remains.
Although, now, more than a body,
I cannot touch you.
Although, much more than a vision,
I can not see you.
If your appearance is in any way
diminished by my lack of senses.
It is in me, not in you,
where the imperfection lies.

🌹With love and in memory of Kathleen Sherrill (August 30, 1933 — June 29, 2003)
