His Love Was Power

It burnt out my desire.

His love I once held inside my mind

Was one that was idealized.

The fire inside of my heart

Has been tearing me apart.

He was in power for so long

It made me weak

It made him strong

It’s strange to say it

But I’m glad he’s gone

I’m not submitting myself

To any man ever again.
