Moon Child

A poem about a cosmic kid

Photo by Kym MacKinnon on Unsplash

She was a child of the moon,
And a mistress of the sun,
A lover of the starlight,
Beside the ocean she will run.

Her skin at nighttime glistens,
Her eyes as dark as matter.
Hair untouched by gravity,
Her mind is soon to shatter.

I imagine in a parallel universe I might be a caricaturist or a botanist or somewhere asleep on the moon — but here, I am a writer.
