Rain
200 Drabble Challenge#15: Rain.

“Rain, rain. Go away”, chorused the children.
I was only trying to help.
“You’ve ruined everything”, sobbed the bride.
I didn’t mean to. The grass needed me.
“Sorry folks, but the match is postponed”.
Must you groan so loud? I know that I’m to blame.
The depressed raincloud drifted away. Spring turned into summer.
“Rain”, cried the earth.
No.
“Rain”, chorused the flowers.
I mustn’t.
“Rain”, begged the farmers.
“Rain”, prayed the village.
“I’m thirsty”, wept the boy.
Dare I help them?
Reluctantly the raincloud returned. When the downpour began, instead of shouting there was singing.
“We love you, rain!”.
