The very first Weekly email was sent on October 31, 2016, meaning tomorrow is the 2-year anniversary of We Are Next—which is crazy!

We’re celebrating and showing our appreciation for our users all week, starting with this countdown of the top 7 most helpful emails from the past year, based on open rates. Whether it’s a quick refresher or your first time seeing them, we hope these gems of advice will be useful to you, wherever you are in your career journey.

7) Apply To Jobs More Successfully With These 5 Tips
We’ve published a lot of emails about applying to jobs, but this one by Eric Forsyth, Brand Director at Barkley, rose to the top as the most helpful. Eric spent 6.5 years at CP+B in Boulder, London and Miami, and helps students prepare their applications as a teacher of Creative Account Management at the University of Colorado Boulder, so you know his advice is gonna be good.

6) How To Manage Up & Build A Relationship With Your Boss
One of our more recent topics, this email provided ways to strengthen the relationship you have with your boss/direct manager, so that you’re creating a productive work environment where you feel supported. Whether your boss is your bff or you’re dealing with a difficult one, ideally they’ll become an ally who will advocate for you for the rest of your career, wherever you go.

5) When Should I Start Looking For An Internship?
I get a lot of questions about when to start actively looking for an internship for the summer, especially as the year comes to an end. While there’s no one-size-fits-all answer, here are some tips to help you plan ahead and be in the best position to land an internship.

4) How To Stand Out By Being Yourself
Toni Dawkins, Strategist at Apple, wrote about her realization that being different and having unique skills and passions are assets in this industry, not something to shy away from. She shares a few tips on how to stand out by leaning into the things that make you, you.

3) 5 Tips For Giving Good Feedback As A Junior
Giving good feedback is a skill that takes practice — which can be hard to do when you’re the most junior person in the room. Thankfully, Rebecca Chien, Senior Strategist at RAPP, wrote this email on why you should voice your feedback as a junior, and tips on how to overcome some very real (and very common) barriers, so you can deliver quality feedback.

2) Now What? On Navigating Rejection
Annie Liu, Designer at Ogilvy, came through with this email about dealing with rejection — something we all inevitably face when working in advertising. Not only was Annie willing to get a little vulnerable, but she also designed her own GIFs for the email, making it one of my visual favorites.

1) What To Do If You’re Questioning Whether To Leave
It’s pretty telling that this is the most popular email from the past year — not every situation is ideal, and most of us will question whether it’s time to leave an agency at some point in our careers. Whether you’re burnt out on a client, feel you aren’t growing, or are curious about what else is out there, here are a few things to keep in mind as you navigate this period of questioning.
