This one is called “I’ll save you the guilt-tripping”.

The artist is to build a chocolate trash which, as the name indicates, is a trash for chocolate. The trash is conveniently made available on very specific days: The 26th of December, the 14th of February and the weeks following Easter celebrations. In countries where chocolate is offered on days other than Christmas, Valentine’s day and Easter, the trash will also make its appearance on these other days.

Fittingly, the trash has holes which indicate which celebration’s sweet gifts are more than welcome to be disposed of: A heart for Valentine’s day, a Christmas tree for Christmas and a bunny for Easter.

The piece stems from a social impetus whereas health conscious citizens receiving chocolate as gifts are trying to smuggle the chocolate out of their houses and into others’ houses by disguising these gifts as desserts for friend parties. This anonymous trash makes it easier to dispose of the chocolate and avoids any sort of personal and collective guilt tripping by putting an end to the lifecycle of chocolate boxes.
