The Wall Street Journal’s spring 2022 newsroom interns produced about 80 stories and projects that had millions of total pageviews through their 10–15 week internship.

The most-read stories through May 19 by this talented group of eight journalists, based out of New York and Washington, D.C., included: reported cases of Covid-19 and the Omicron variant; America’s shortage of disposable cups; Mercury going into retrograde, an astrological phenomenon; the return of the Better.com chief executive officer who fired 900 workers on a Zoom call; Golf legend Phil Mickelson apologizing for comments he made about a Saudi-backed Super Golf League; and a logistics company that shuts down its computer systems after a cyberattack.

Here’s a look at some of the stories and projects produced by The Wall Street Journal’s spring 2022 newsroom interns.
