Licensees have a responsibility to ensure their employees who sell, serve, and mix alcohol at on-premises licensed establishments (such as restaurants) have a Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) permit. MAST permits are also required for off-premises retailers that provide samples and for grocery store employees who fill growlers or containers.

A permit checker is available on the LCB website. This is a helpful tool that can be used to search and verify active permits. It does not replace the requirement to keep a copy on the premises, but you can use it to ensure the permit is valid. You can also contact our MAST team directly at mast@lcb.wa.gov or (360)664–1727 or (360)664–1728 with any questions.
