Did you know the Monthly Sales/Tax report (also known as the LIQ1295 form) was updated for the medically compliant cannabis excise tax exemption?

Medical Cannabis Exemption Effective June 6

On June 6, the medical cannabis excise tax exemption for qualifying patients took effect (RCW 69.50.535(2)). With this change, the monthly sales/tax report report was refreshed and a new line for “medical cannabis product sales” was added.

To standardize reporting for all cannabis retailers, the tax and fee unit is now sending emails to licensees that include the updated report. You can also access an Excel or fillable PDF version on the LCB website here.

Review Your Sales Data

When completing the form, review your sales data and enter total medical sales for sales to a qualified patient, the product meets Department of Health testing requirement, and the 37% excise tax was not assessed and collected from the consumer.
