In July 2022, the Board adopted final rules to implement legislation that replaces the word “marijuana” with “cannabis” in all state laws. Gov. Inslee signed the new law in March, and it officially took effect on August 6, 2022.

Updated Window Clings

Ensuring the agency’s language is consistent with its values of diversity and respect, the LCB has updated its language to reflect this change. For medically endorsed cannabis retailers, the agency will be providing updated window clings reflecting this shift in language. New clings will be mailed out in the coming weeks and we ask that you please replace the previous cling with the included updated one.

If you have a medical endorsement, LCB licensing staff will be reaching out to you soon to determine whether you continue to meet the requirements, so that we have an up to date list to share with patients.

Please Contact Us:

If you no longer meet the requirements for a medical endorsement, please let us know so that we can remove you from the list of medically endorsed retail stores that patients rely upon. Retailers can email cannabisendorsement@lcb.wa.gov to discontinue or request a medical endorsement.

For more information about the requirements for a medical endorsement, please see WAC 314–55–080.
