Colorado Congressional District 4 Representative Kenneth Buck ended speculation that he will not seek re-election on Wednesday, September 13, speaking to KHOW (630 am) Denver talk radio personality Ross Kaminsky. As the Greeley Tribune reports it, Buck laid to rest the excited conjecture about who might run in his place by saying:

“Right now, I think it’s very unlikely that I do anything other than stay focused on running for the 4th Congressional District and doing the job that I enjoy doing here in D.C.”

This is disappointing news to organizations like WTFColorado.org and ColoradoPols.com, who have been speculating in print about the pleasant consequences of Buck leaving his Congressional seat empty to run for Colorado Attorney General. We must now resign ourselves to a harder-fought contest in the 2018 general election.

In 2018, Buck and Colorado’s Oil and Gas interests will face off against either Dr. Karen McCormick (pictured below) or Dr. Chase Kohne (pictured above). WTF Colorado is joyfully committed to supporting whichever of these fine candidates is victorious in the June 2018 Democratic Primary.
