Parker, Colorado traditionally opens the summer with the Parker Days street festival. It’s a pleasant and well-attended affair in a pleasant exurban town whose main problem seems to be a shortage of Democrats. But the Douglas County Democrats are doing everything they can to fix that, with their aggressive double-wide booth, encrusted with Donkeys and filled with swag.

To our endless delight, the booth contained a do-it-yourself button press. Two days after the Comey testimony, one could go to the Democratic booth and buy a button reading “Lordy, I hope there are tapes!” Genius.

Seriously, we were privileged to meet with the Douglas County leadership and see how they do things in Douglas County. Newly announced CD4 Candidate Chase Kohne and his campaign manager Nick Land sat down with messaging specialist Howard Chou, and Marcia and Seth from WTF for a discussion on framing the issues and other matters of strategy.

A reminder: WTF will not endorse any candidate for CD4 Representative prior to the Democratic Primary. We’re happy, however to feature candidates, to help you and us get to know them.
