What if it’s not Buck?

The Denver Post last week reported that Ken Buck will consider running for Colorado Attorney General rather than Representative from CD4 if current Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman runs for Governor. Buck cited his preference for living in Colorado as driving his choice.

We think it’s more than that. We’ve heard through the grapevine that he isn’t happy in his work. He looks tired, with baggy eyes and sagging shoulders. He may like living in Colorado, but he doesn’t like representing its people much.

We of the Left like to think we had something to do with Buck’s fantasies about leaving Congress. We kept his phones busy, kept those cards and letters coming in, and we bird-dogged the poor man day and night. We insisted on meetings, we asked “gotcha” questions, we published his gaffes and turned them into refrains. We shouted him down. We fact-checked him. We recorded his every appearance, and he knows there are hours of attack ads waiting to happen. He is in no doubt, we are sure, about how we feel about him.

Still, we persist. #Resist.
