WTVS. We Shared This Week: #20

We share a pretty serious amount of stuff with each other on a weekly basis. Stuff we like, stuff that inspires us, stuff that makes us laugh, stuff we wish we made, stuff we should read, stuff we should listen to, stuff we should watch…STUFF.

This weekly post rounds up all the stuff we’ve shared with each other over the last seven days and gives it to you because, well, it’s always nice to spread the wealth. WTVS it is.

We love the simplicity and responsiveness of this new Willow logo. It feels super modern and accessible. Plus, we love how it connects back to the company’s beliefs.

Your Brand Is Not Your Logo — Matt Davies Linkedin Post

Why we shared it:

This post boils down what we believe about brand into a few simple slides. Brands have to start with knowing who they are in their core beliefs before branching thinking about your colors and logo.

The art of making information beautiful

Why we shared it:

Both of us work at data companies and know the struggle of talking about and visualizing such an, at times, abstract concept. This article gives us some major inspo.

Bridging the False Divide Between B2B and B2C

Why we shared it:

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: B2B brands need to invest in brand! This article dives into how B2B is not all work and no play and B2C is not all play and no work. Some of our favorite B2B companies commit hard to make their brands both intelligent and fun. And it seems to pay off in the end.

Zendesk’s Thank You Machine

Why we shared it:

Speaking of B2B brands who invest in a fun and functional brand…Zendesk came out with their Thank You Machine, which is a complete brand play and smart as hell. It’s fun, interactive, and ties back to their core beliefs and product by leveraging their customers to talk about moments of gratitude while using Zendesk.

Brand Rollout Strategy | 10 Minutes On Brand by Focus Lab | Ep.2

Why we shared it:

People often focus on a rebrand project but don’t think about what happens when it’s done. How do you actually release it? This new podcast series talks about just that and, based on this episode, we’re excited to hear more.

Ceros The Power of Creativity Recap

Why we shared it:

This video from Ceros is long but has some really lovely moments of inspiration for anyone working in creative roles. Skip past the Ceros plugs and there are some real gems in there.

Why Tech Companies Invest in Brand Design

Why we shared it:

Another long video but this, again, hits right on our core beliefs; investing in brand is a non-negotiable. Companies that don’t invest in brand are short-sighted and will end up regretting it in the long run.

See ya next time!
