Blob Opera — Google Arts & Cultures

Why we shared it: This ML experiment allows you to create your own little opera with adorable blob creatures. Not inherently holiday-themed, if you click on the tree in the bottom right-hand corner the blobs don Santa hats and you can have them sing festive holiday songs.

DocMorris Christmas Ad by Jung von Matt

Why we shared it: The spot was created by the German ad agency Jung von Matt and tells a heartwarming story of a grandpa’s inspired kettlebell workout. It’s storytelling at its best in a festive and adorable way. Worth watching to the end.

How Satan Fell for 2020, the Year From Hell

Why we shared it: These spots from Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort for Match are hilarious and also a little too real after the year we’ve had. We appreciated the humor and the timeliness and think these are a great example of “viral” brand content…we definitely shared them with our friends.

Merry Meditation

Why we shared it: This little holiday landing page isn’t anything too special but after the year we’ve had, we can all use a little meditation. We especially like the mantras that come up and how they’re witty and connected to the year that was.

The magic of mini feat. Tierra Whack

Why we shared it: Listen, Apple rarely misses when it comes to ads so we’re not surprised how good this one is. Starring Tierra Whack this colorful and fun ad is quirky and almost registers as a music video instead of an ad for the mini homepod. We have to admit, it didn’t make us want to buy the homepod but it did make us want to listen to Tierra Whack’s music.

SodaStream and Snoop Dogg

Why we shared it: A holiday season without a single ad feature Snoop Dogg just wouldn’t be well, a holiday season. We like how the messaging about small things making a big impact works not just for the SodaStream product but also for all the other COVID-friendly activities he mentions in the ad. Short, sweet, fun. One of our favorite ads this season.

Miller Lite — Farewell, Work Holiday Paries — ’Tis Miller Time

Why we shared it: This ad by DDB for Miller Lite shines a light on something we all hate: work holiday parties. We like how, again, the ad is timely and funny and highlights a positive from the pandemic. On top of it, we think it’s super cool that the people in this ad are actually sculptures done by Alex Prager, which were available to be seen in a museum in LA.

Etsy — Gift Like You Mean It

Why we shared it: The in-house Etsy creative team worked with 72andSunny New York on these ads, which shine a light on Etsy customers who made major changes in their businesses to adapt to the pandemic. We love these because they are short and sweet, diverse, highlight the importance of shopping small, and show the power of a meaningful gift.

Happy holidays!!
