How carpooling works

Wunder carpool is a platform that connects members to a city-wide community of commuters. We enable you to take cars off the road and ease traffic in your hometown. Use Wunder to find a free seat or share your car with commuters along your route.

Read more below and check our introductory video.

Set up your profile

First step? Fill out your Wunder profile! This will be your representation in the community: personal details and what’s important to you. Having a complete profile is the best base to connect with matching carpoolers. Be sure to include a nice photo, your real name and verify your ID or drivers license.

Create a (repeating) ride

The first step to start carpooling is creating a ride. By setting up your origin, destination and commute time you lay the base for finding matching carpoolers. We strongly recommend to set up repeating rides for your commute to and from work. This increases your chance to find a regular carpooler that you can share rides with frequently.

As a car-owner we recommend to add further details to your rides. Especially adding stops to your route will increase your chances to find matching carpoolers a lot. You can learn more about stops here.

Browse matching carpoolers

Once you created your first ride you can see matching carpoolers that have a similar commute. Browse through them and check their ride details, profiles and ratings to find carpoolers you would like to share a ride with.

Request/Offer rides

Once you found interesting carpoolers, request or offer a ride. The carpoolers will be notified. You will receive a notification as soon as people accept or decline your carpool request/offer. We recommend sending a personal message via chat when you request/offer to introduce yourself and get to know your fellow carpooler.

You can find more details on how to behave in the carpooling community here and how to stay safe here.
