The mission of Women Who Code is to inspire women to excel in technology careers. Our vision is a world where diverse women are better represented as engineers and tech leaders. We are an inclusive community dedicated to providing an empowering experience for everyone who participates in or supports our community.

Our Blog

The blog will cover a variety of topics about the Python programming language. We will share Python topics that interest us, coding best practices, cheat sheets, event recaps, and so much more. We will cover how Python is used in machine learning, web development, interface development, computer vision, and more.

We host amazing events at WWCode Python! We enjoy delivering technical events such as study groups and live coding sessions and tutorials. We also host social, community events such as meet and greets and Bytes n’ Brew.

Are you new to programming and/or computer science? Do you want to learn about the Python programming language and looking for a place to start? We will journey through the exciting world of Python data types, functions, if/else statements, loops, decomposition, and more with real-time coding exercises. Grab a cup of tea (or your favorite drink) and code along with us!

Are you looking for a place to practice your code interview with a group of Python enthusiasts? Join us for our LeetCode series study group to learn solving algorithm patterns problems! We will talk through intermediate / medium level problems on LeetCode by recognizing patterns and figuring out a strategy to solve them.

Introduction to Web Scraping: Build a Job Search Scraper
Services like Google, Instagram, Pinterest, and Spotify use the web scraping method to auto-extract information from a website and classify its data. Join us for an exciting introduction to web scraping with Python! We will explore the concept of web scraping using the Python library BeautifulSoup. We will walk through how to create a simple web scraper from scratch that will crawl data from two job platforms, allowing us to retrieve the job search data for our search keywords. We will also share the fundamentals of HTML and reading and writing CSV files while launching into our cool demo.

How to Build a WhatsApp Chatbot Using Python and Twilio
Ever wonder if your WhatsApp was a bot that could perform automatic tasks such as sending birthday messages at exactly midnight or sending you reminders about your day-to-day tasks? In this talk, you will learn how to create your own WhatsApp chatbot that can help you set and receive daily reminders via WhatsApp. We will make use of the Twilio’s WhatsApp API for communication, Python for development, Google Sheets as database and Heroku for deployment. After this talk, you will be well equipped with a good understanding of a wide range of Python packages, such as Flask, gspread, APScheduler, datetime, pytz and more.

We will go over how to create simple interfaces, some Qt concepts, and how to put everything together to create a more complex interface.
