Announcing our Partnership with DeFi Land: A Multi-Chain Agriculture Simulation Gamifying Decentralized Finance

DeFi Land is setting out to bring decentralized finance (DeFi) to the masses by turning investment activities into games.

About the Project

DeFi Land, in simple terms, is an agriculture-simulation web-based game. It comes with gameplay mechanics and assets you’d expect from a farming game: sunflowers, corn, and pumpkins. At the surface, it’s a game that resonates with even the most casual players; however, it’s much more than that. Every asset in DeFi Land represents a currency — sunflower = $SOL, corn = $USDC, and pumpkin = $COPE. In-game functionality correlates to decentralized finance, bridging a significant onboarding rift between casual, technical non-savvy users and the technically complicated world of DeFi.

Key aspects:

• Protocol Aggregation: players can manage multiple DeFi assets in one place.
• Gamification: making it easy and fun to interact with DeFi through gameplay.
• NFT Marketplace: user-owned, in-game assets that hold special functionality within the game. Users can buy and sell unique NFTs.
• Play to Earn Model: achievements, tasks, battles, collections & more will incentivize users to play the game and stay engaged with the community.

DeFi Land is being developed on the Solana ecosystem where the gameplay experience will be fast and transaction costs will be low. The DeFi Land team plans to expand to other ecosystems (Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain) in early 2022. Behind the project is a team of blockchain engineers and game developers who have proven their abilities to develop functional products efficiently — you can see for yourself in their Solana Demo Day presentation.

Tokenomics

DeFi Land’s native token, $DFL, is used to govern DeFi Land and reward players in-game. Players will be allowed to stake $DFL, buy NFTs from the in-game marketplace, and participate in airdrops! Players will be incentivized with game goals and achievements which will unlock NFTs, $DFL tokens, and other prizes.

With $DFL, you can expect:

• Token swapping
• Liquidity providing
• Staking & yield farming
• Governance

The platform generates revenue through transaction fees, the NFT marketplace, new asset creation and more.

Behind our Partnership

A key component of WWVentures investment thesis is this: we partner with projects that share our goal to bring mass adoption into cryptocurrency. DeFi Land has strong potential to draw a massive user base to their platform. Gamification can bring a new user base to DeFi; as it currently stands, onboarding new users into the world of DeFi comes with a significant learning curve.
