A futuristic, play-to-earn, NFT MMORPG with high levels of customization and a promising roadmap.

About the Project

SIDUS is a play-to-earn gaming metaverse whose open-beta demo has been available for a few weeks (click here). The closed-beta version (only available to owners of NFT Heroes NFTs from the Genesis collection) is planned for release on January 10th, while the public release is scheduled for January 23rd.

The game features NFT Heroes originating from various blockchain planets. Being a multiplayer game, users can form teams and explore the universe by embarking on adventures and quests using custom-built starships. Players will also be able to specialize in certain professions (e.g. spacecraft engineer, biologist, etc.) and will earn rewards in return for their work.

The SIDUS roadmap (available here) is divided into 3 areas: innerverse, metaverse and outerverse. To ensure the game’s longevity, new features such as NFT types, professions, Hero races and player-controlled actions will be rolled out gradually. Being a cloud-based game, all these improvements will be added to the gameplay without any interruptions for maintenance or shutdowns, making this metaverse environment accessible 24/7, all year-round. Even the making of a movie based on the game’s storyline is part of the team’s plans, starting in late 2025.

As an example, unexplored planets may be visited for 30 minutes every day and can be claimed after having accumulated 100 visiting hours. Animals will be encountered along the way, which can be acquired and taken on field missions. Although the Heroes’ rarity is partly random (e.g. skin, accessories, etc.), all users can climb up the universe’s hierarchical structure (layers) and upgrade their Heroes by remaining active inside the game (i.e. engaging in quests, battles and fighting for reputation).

The team built their own gaming engine that has the ability to self-optimize the graphics according to each player’s device specs. Likewise, the game will be playable on virtually any device and browser, given this self-optimization feature. Although it’s built on Ethereum, the game will be mult-chain-compatible and has received support from Solana, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, EOS, Polygon, Polkadot, Cosmos, Fantom and Huobi’s HECO.

Tokenomics

SIDUS HEROES will operate a dual-token economy:

• $SENATE is the governance token, used for exchanging plots of land and module parts as well as for voting on improvement proposals submitted by other participants.
• $SIDUS is an ERC-721 token that will support all game progress and development.

Players can also stake their NFTs to receive NFT rewards, i.e. Hero traits and upgrades.

SIDUS’ in-game economy stretches much further than its tokens’ use cases. As a user progresses through the game, they will find themselves participating in 3 different economic core loops, each offering various financial incentives and opportunities. There are also some well-defined schemes for labor economics, land distribution and more, all of which are explained in the whitepaper here.
