Another week, another opportunity to talk about how blockchain and distributed ledger technology might just change everything!

This week Emma Weston presented at the 2016 Compliance Workshop at the Australian Grains Industry Conference (AGIC). Held a day before the official conference kick off, the Compliance Workshop is a day long program featuring the latest industry developments that may impact the operations of the 100+ grain brokers, buyers and traders in attendance.

Emma’s presentation was titled, “Blockchain: The Power and the Potential.” The purpose of the talk was to first give an introduction to blockchain technology and how it is being used currently. Then, Emma explained the objectives of Full Profile’s AgriDigital pilot this grain harvest.

Very few businesses are actively considering how blockchain will impact their business or the opportunities blockchain presents for growth and innovation. For some attendees, this was the first time they had heard of blockchain. But they caught on quick! Emma’s presentation peaked people’s interest and sparked excitement, judging by the number of questions and comments both immediately after Emma’s presentation and in the lunch break that followed.

And the interest was not just from the audience- the press were excited, too. Following the event, Emma gave a short interview to ABC Rural Country Hour Program on where blockchain might take us as an industry, and how we at Full Profile are leading the way.

Attending AGIC gave the Full Profile team confidence that participants throughout the grains industry will benefit from our AgriDigital agri-blockchains.

Only a few short weeks until we present at Finovate and launch the first ever agri-blockchain commercial pilot. Want to learn more or keep in touch? Sign up for our newsletter!
