The proposal includes a way of giving consumers a single switch on their browser of device to opt in or out of all cookies. Which leads to? Yes of course, most people to opt out of everything immediately without ever turning it back on again.

In turn, this leads to zero insights for websites such as newspapers, or other high traffic webpages.

The only ones that still have that consumer insights, are the digital giants such as Facebook, Amazon and Google. This gives the companies that already own 90% of the advertising spend even far more control leading to, let's say an even far less equal playing field than before…
