Love’s Last Gasp
Breathe — Daily Writing Prompt
Hand circled her neck. Fingers cupped the back of her neck. Thumb rubbed the pulsing hollow in her throat.
His nose skirted across her jaw. Lips pressed a kiss to her temple. Eyes shone with tears.
It was time to say goodbye. Her journey in this world would end. Their battle took its toll. On both of them.
“I love you,” her nod spurred him on, “Too much to ever let you go.”
His thumb pushed into her airway. Her eyes bulged. She wheezed, “No, please.”
Airway crushed, she crumpled to the floor. Beside the lover he’d already killed.
