Eons before the first star, before the first breath was taken, there was only the Void.

It wandered through the darkness yearning for something beyond the vast abyss, something more.

From this one desire, three beings were formed.

The first was born of the mind, Umbra, the second was born from the eyes, Aura, and the third was born of the heart, Vita. These three beings came to be known as the Hallowed.

The Hallowed

  • Umbra the Spector
  • Aura the Savior
  • Vita the Seeker

The children of the Void tested their might against one another, fighting for centuries until something strange happened. The remnants of their powers were merging to create something none of them thought was possible, life itself. The three gods decided to combine their gifts to create the world of Undra which consisted of three realms: Ovan, Enligt, and Millan.

The Hallowed were not immortals but their lifespan could last for thousands of generations. But, in order for Undra to thrive and for the realms to flourish, they had to surrender a large part of their life essence to nourish and sustain it. In doing so, they shortened their existence. When Undra was finished, the Hallowed decided to live the rest of their days among the creatures that grew from this new land.

As this world bloomed, so did the subjects and followers of each deity. During the Age of Champions, a rivalry and hatred brewed between the three realms causing a war called the First Hallowed Crusade.

Kingdoms and empires fought for control of the three realms, and after 300 years of conflict, the war ended during the Battle of Titan’s Keep. Countless societies and cultures vanished, and with it, the last of the known champions. As time went on, the first crusade came to be known as the Red Waste.

For the following generations, there was a bright future ahead, and after 500 years of peace, the lands of Undra healed, returning its lost mystery and marvel. But, the centuries of pain and sorrow were not forgotten. Tales of ash and blood were passed down from one generation to the next and whispers of war loomed again.

In the Age of Descendants, empires grew once more and rode off into the depths of battle and glory. This time, the realms of Ovan and Enligt were determined to end the second crusade swiftly by pursuing the realm of Millan to unite their armies.

The subjects of the Seeker reached out to their god for guidance, but how could one choose between their own kin? The Seeker thought back to the beginning, to the Void wandering alone for eons, and how the Hallowed and all of the realms came into existence because of its desire for something more.

Vita knew that if a side was chosen, the balance between the realms would be destroyed. All of their life essence that went into nurturing Undra, would be in vain. So, the Seeker chose to galvanize the beasts and men of Millan to fight and stop the war before both sides destroyed each other.

During the Slaughter of Skymndor, Vita made the ultimate sacrifice by using the last of the god’s life essence to end the Second Crusade after 50 years of war. A blazing light pierced through the heavens that could be seen across the realms, and the Seeker vanished.

Every creature in Undra lost their will to fight that day and mourned the lost of one of the founding gods. The Hallowed offered their kin one last final prayer.

“Return to the Void and in depths embrace shall you become whole.”
