Friends,

The last time I wrote to you, we were celebrating a successful and exciting conclusion to 2018 — Wyze’s first full year in business. In that letter, I shared with you some of our company’s short history, the core values we hold ourselves to every day, and what you can expect from us going into 2019.

That letter is my personal commitment to you as CEO of Wyze that the product you purchased yesterday will become even better tomorrow. I have a printed copy of it hanging next to my computer monitor that I see and read every single day.

I’m excited to say the first half of 2019 has been very productive for us and our team has delivered many of the promises in that email. Our product roadmap is well underway and our team has more than tripled in size (and is still growing) in the last six months to support the exciting plans we have ahead of us.

To catch you up, here’s a little bit of what we’ve been able to accomplish since we last spoke:

  • In January, we announced a $20M Series A investment,
  • In March, we celebrated one million users and threw a party where I met many of you,
  • In May, we released the highly anticipated, highly requested RTSP and Google Assistant integrations along with our first non-camera product, Wyze Sense,
  • In June, we partnered with The Home Depot and are now available in all of their stores across the US,
  • And, in July, we improved Wyze Cam notifications with the addition of Person Detection and made our introduction into the smart lighting and power space with the launches of Wyze Bulb and Wyze Plug.

We’ve got a lot more lined up for the remainder of 2019 and even more for 2020. The list you read above is only the beginning of what we plan to do as we continue our mission to make smart home technology accessible to everyone.

Thank you so much for your continued support and confidence in Wyze. We hope to make every one of you proud to be one of our earliest users.

Now, it looks like the last thing I owe you from that 2018 email is an outdoor camera. If all goes according to plan, you’ll hear from me again later this year.

— Yun Zhang, CEO
