Formula #004 — The Lazy Boy

Picture this, you’re leaning back in your recliner, just settling into luxury and you look over to see — your light is still on. We’ll walk you through how to use the Wyze Sense Starter kit and Wyze Bulb to automatically turn your lights off when you recline.

Formula ingredients

Wyze Sense Starter Kit (Contact Sensor)
Wyze Bulb
Wyze Cam v2 or Wyze Cam Pan
Recliner chair

STEP 1 — Login to your Wyze app. For information on how to get the Wyze app click here.

STEP 2 — Set up your Wyze Cam or Wyze Cam Pan, your Wyze Bulb, and your Wyze Sense Starter Kit. (Click the product to find setup instructions.)

STEP 3 — Position the Wyze Sense contact sensor on your recliner so that when you recline, the contact sensor will separate enough to trigger an Open status.

STEP 4 — Create a new rule in the Wyze app. Select Device Trigger and set it for when the contact sensor opens.

STEP 5 — Set the Action so that the Wyze Bulb turns off. Tap Save.

STEP — Test for success!

Optional — You can do the same action with a Wyze Plug and a light of your choice instead of using a Wyze Bulb.
